ROBERT FINCH in Arizona has virtually every type of dive magazine
imaginable, including the very first issue of the extremely rare FACE PLATE,
issued in 1948, the oldest diving periodical published in America, and
one of the seven oldest dive magazine ever published. Face Plate was the
official magazine of the Sparling School of Deep Sea Diving, in California,
a school founded by the legendary Ellis Cross. The first issue of the American
magazine Skin Diver, by the way, came out in December 1951. As a collector
of Sport, Commercial and Military diving magazines, newspapers and newsletters,
Robert would like to trade with other collectors. He seek issues
of all titles, old and new, from all countries, and has thousands of extra
issues from various countries to trade. Perhaps there are dive clubs
that would like the fun of trading issues as a club project. We can
all help the environment by recycling our issues via trading! If
trading is not possible, he will purchase issues. As a historian
of diving periodicals, Robert would like to correspond with other historians,
past and present publishers, and anyone who could provide information.
All help will be gratefully appreciated.
